The Council of the European Union decided on 10 February to expand its criteria used to impose sanctions against Belarusian individuals and companies involved in the violation of human rights and civil liberties. Also, the decision to introduce sanctions against a new group of Belarusian officials is expected to be taken at a meeting of EU foreign ministers at the end of February.
